A relatively rare treat in Portland, young, earnest Scottish rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks put on a blistering, gorgeous, workmanlike performance last night.
May took to the two wheeler this weekend, with great success. A big development in life. I can still recall my first time on two wheels with great pride and joy (and some pain as I didn't actually know how to use the brakes yet). Rosa got into the act as well demonstrating her new love of reading chapter books!

It's a strange sport...punishing...great to watch...video below the fold.

Gueuze! A new Belgian (not New Belgium) blender...a beautiful beer. In the background you will see some of the spoils of Novare...one of three world class beer bars in Maine (Ebeneezer's and Lion's Pride included).
First day! First grade. Rosa goes to school. The second picture speaks volumes (some touchup to protect the innocent). She didn't lose her nerve that day...nor since. She's done great...
The neighbors plant a tree. May enjoys. Summer fun.
Beautiful August evening at the best parking garage in portland...the Custom House Wharf Garage. That's my view in the morning when I take the car into work. Who knows where we were going...probably pizza.
After crashing the fixie (barbecue, beer, emergency room) for the third time, I retired it and built a new ride: a Surly Cross-Check (single speed this time, not fixed). Perfect for my three-turned-fifteen mile commute over road and trail.
